Corrosion Resistance of Super Duplex Steel S32750
Super duplex stainless steel 1.4410 provides excellent resistance to localized corrosion mechanisms such as pitting and crevice corrosion. Its high PREN value (Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number) of 38 or higher underlines its suitability for use in aggressive chloride-containing environments. The material also performs well in acidic solutions and is resistant to general and stress corrosion cracking.
Processing and Heat Treatment
Solution annealing is carried out at temperatures between 1040 and 1120 °C, followed by rapid cooling in water or air. Hot forming should take place in the range of 1200 to 1000 °C. The material shows good weldability and can be processed using standard techniques for duplex steels.
