Various Material Grades
T-pieces are essential pipe fittings in piping construction. They allow a pipeline to branch off in a new direction – whether to divide media flows or to integrate additional pipe sections. At WITTE TUBE + PIPE SYSTEMS, we offer a wide range of stainless steel T-pieces, manufactured according to international standards such as DIN EN 10253-3 and DIN EN 10253-4, available in both seamless and welded versions.
Pipe Tees – Function and Variants
A pipe tee connects three pipe segments – two aligned in a straight line and one at a right angle. This design enables the integration of a third connection, offering versatile branching options within the pipeline system.
Our stainless steel pipe tees are available in the following versions:
● T-piece Type A – with reduced wall thickness in the branch; lightweight and cost-efficient
● T-piece Type B – with full wall thickness; robust and suited for higher pressure applications
What Is the Difference Between Type A and Type B T-Pieces?
● Type B is more robust and suitable for demanding operating conditions
● Type A is more economical and ideal for applications with lower mechanical stress
Standards, Materials & Certifications
Our stainless steel T-pieces meet the requirements of leading international standards, including:
● DIN EN 10253-4 – for austenitic and austenitic-ferritic steels (e.g. Duplex, Super Duplex)
● DIN EN 10253-3 – for unalloyed and alloyed ferritic steels
● EN 10253 Type B
● ASME B16.9, ASTM A403 / SA815
We also supply custom-made T-pieces from bar stock according to customer drawings.
The corresponding DIN EN 10253-4 PDF with technical specifications is available upon request.
